(pressebox) Munich/Grasbrunn, 08.12.2008 – Wirecard AG was commissioned to process credit card payments for the new online shop launched in November by the retail organization chain Lidl.

The Lidl online shop represents a further development of the stationary Lidl offering on the Internet. Schwarz E-Commerce GmbH & Co. KG from Neckarsulm – like Lidl, a member of the Schwarz group of companies – presents new special offers each week on www.lidl-shop.de, ranging from household goods, tools and toys to winter sport articles. In implementing the project, a great deal of importance was assigned to establishing the shop from the very beginning on a technologically sophisticated level and simultaneously exploiting the existing core structures of the Schwarz Group.

"We opted in favor of Wirecard AG as a payment services provider because of their compelling complete package of ‘acquiring and transaction processing services from a single source’ and their technical expertise and consultancy skills," explains a spokesman for the company. "As regards to the future development of the shop, it is particularly important for us to cooperate with a partner who has an international presence, both in the field of payments and in risk management services."
