This year AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings will be focusing on how its products and services can help save time and cut costs by shortening coating and maintenance schedules.

New System Preview

Coatings products featured on the AkzoNobel stand include a brand new two-coat system, Aerodur® 3001/3002, described as one of ‘the most important developments for a decade and which, the company says, can save up to 30% cycle/process time as well as significant application, cost and aesthetic maintenance benefits for airlines and OEMs.

New Quick Repair Kit

AkzoNobel is also unveiling its ‘fit for purpose’ Burst Pack for faster, easier coatings repair at a maintenance check or during aircraft turnaround times.

This little device, containing separate pouches of coating base and hardener not only saves time, it earns its environmental credentials by cutting waste too. "It’s very simple to use" explains René Bremer, Sales Manager Middle East. "By squeezing the pack you safely rupture the internal seal, and the base and hardener can be mixed in the correct ratio within a minute".

Since the volume can be as little as 40 ML, or less, waste is reduced considerably compared to traditional touch up methods. Burst Packs come in a range of sizes and in a wide choice of popular coatings products.

Military Camouflage

For military applications Aerodur® 5000, is a super durable, high performance, new generation military aircraft camouflage coating, which can be applied in only one coat on new builds, in routine maintenance, or in the field when camouflage repairs are needed quickly.
