According to the latest survey by BauInfoConsult quality is a critical feature in product selection: the interviewed architects, contractors and SHK-installers were presented with four possible assessments. The overwhelming majority of respondents share the view that price is important but should not be at the expense of quality. In the view of most respondents quality as compared to price will be more important in the coming years. Such a statement is the consensus of 72 percent of architects. For SHK-installers a whopping 81 percent, among builders 62 percent are of the same opinion *.

Technical Support

For research, development and quality insurance, the existing testing laboratory has recently been extended to include the application laboratory and technical center. The investment alone is an estimated 500,000 Euros by Dennert Poraver GmbH.

The technical center includes the entire production process in miniature form, from the recycled glass delivery to the finished Poraver. In the application laboratory very individual formulations are designed and tested in collaboration with the customers. For this purpose our complete knowledge and all laboratory and test equipment (ovens, mixers, climate controlled rooms, mills, rotary kilns, etc) are available.

- Determination of the bulk density weight of the upperand under layered grain and corresponding grading curve.
- Determination of pressure resistance and bending tensile strengths on aggregates, lightweight concretes plasters and mortars.
- Verification of tensile bond strength after different storage conditions.
- Testing of luminosity.
- Measurement of thermal conductivity.
- Use of the laser granulometer to determine the grain size (1-1.000 ?m).
- Determine the material structure by means of light microscope images to a 60-fold and using SEM images up to 10,000-fold.

Due to the close customer and supplier cooperation many synergies have already been formed resulting in complementary to completely new use and application areas.

Thus today Poraver is the aggregate for powerful flow, raw and composite materials in the building materials and construction chemicals industries as well as the plastics, automotive and offshore industries.

Customers in the segment of construction chemicals are particularly interested in Poraver-finest grain. For example the turnover of grain sizes 0.1 – 0.3 mm since 2001 produced has increased from 220 tonnes in 2002, to several thousand tonnes in 2008.

The increasing demand for finer fillers is accommodated by Poraver with an investment of 300,000 Euros to expand the production capacity and to drive the development of even smaller grain sizes (0.04 to 0.125 mm).
