(pressebox) Putzbrunn, 28.11.2008 – Truma Gerätetechnik GmbH & Co. KG, specialist for convenience in campers and caravans, now has the OPTIMA® batteries YellowTop® S 4.2 and S 5.5 from the world leader Johnson Controls in its product range.

The two maintenance-free OPTIMA® AGM-SpiralCell batteries have a capacity of 55 Ah or 75 Ah and not only offer a longer service life and much greater reserve capacities, they also provide a reliable power supply even when subject to cold, heat, dirt or heavy vibration. The OPTIMA® batteries have a new technology distinguished by the special combination of pure lead, high acidic density, cast connection contacts and an impact-resistant polypropylene casing.

The "YellowTops" can be charged up to twice as quickly as standard gel batteries and are extremely cycle-stable. When higher flows are required, such as e.g. during manoeuvring with the Mover, the capacity stated on the OPTIMA YellowTop® battery is available to 100 %. In comparison, a gel battery is only able to supply approx. 60 % of the stated capacity. This means that for a comparable 55 Ah of the OPTIMA® battery 4.2, a gel battery with a stated output of 85 Ah would be needed.

The innovative SpiralCell technology is 100 % leak proof, allowing it to be installed flexibly in any position, even upside down. The battery is now available from authorised dealers.
