New EMC/EMI filters with IEC inlet to meet the requirement for high attenuation performance

(pressebox) Luterbach, 02.12.2008 – Schaffner’s impressive new FN 9244 filters deliver excellent attenuation performance. They are intended to supplement the existing IEC inlet filter range, are available with various options, and can be mounted in a variety of ways.

Schaffner, the international leader in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility and power quality, has expanded its IEC inlet filter series by launching the new FN 9244 family of filters. These products deliver excellent symmetrical and asymmetrical attenuation performance in a small, compact package and complement the existing inlet filter range. Offering a choice of three attenuation classes: standard performance, high performance, and very high performance, the FN 9244 series takes the features of the tried-and-tested FN 9222 and FN 9233 filters to the next level. The FN 9244 family of filters has been developed for applications that call for excellent attenuation performance as well as for medical applications involving low leakage currents.

A special version of the FN 9244 featuring an earth line choke is also available (following on from the FN 9222E and FN 9233E versions) for filtering interference on the earth potential.

All the new filters are designed for a maximum continuous operating voltage of 250VAC, 50/60Hz, as well as for rated currents of 1 to 10A (ENEC, CQC) and 1 to 15A (UL, CSA). In addition to the standard version, a special safety version and a medical version with low leakage currents are also available. All meet the requirements of IEC/EN 60601-1. The new family of filters is rounded off by various mechanical mounting and hot inlet versions (IEC inlet type C16). The products also meet the requirements of the RoHS and REACH regulations.
