NEP Solar wins the 2009 Intersolar AWARD for its new process heat collector PolyTrough 1200

Munich (ots) – NEP Solar’s innovative solar process heat collector has won the 2009 Intersolar AWARD. Centred on a proprietary polymeric reflector the new PolyTrough 1200 deploys various design features which will lead to lower life cycle costs for the clients. The parabolic trough collector is designed to generate heat at 120°C to 220°C for industrial processes as well as commercial solar cooling, large scale water heating and distributed power generation.

“Solar process heat is the sleeping giant of solar thermal. As a significant part of primary energy consumption stems from medium temperature industrial applications it is essential that solar process heat experiences a similar uptake in this sector as seen for solar domestic water heating in the residential area” says Antoine Millioud, CFO of NEP Solar.

NEP Solar is an Australian-Swiss company with offices in Sydney and Basel supplying concentrating solar collector technology for process heat and commercial cooling applications. Through quality design, life cycle approach and customer focus the NEP Solar team around CEO Johan Dreyer wishes to contribute to the uptake of solar thermal in the industrial and commercial sectors.
