Frankfurt (ots) – Following the meeting of the Board of Supervisory Directors of KfW on 29 June 2011 the Board Chairman, Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, Federal Minister of Finance, made the following announcement:
The Board of Supervisory Directors of KfW today appointed Dr Edeltraud Leibrock as Member of the Executive Board. Starting 1 October 2011. Dr Leibrock will assume the newly created position as Chief Operating Officer und Chief Information Officer (COO/CIO). She currently heads the Group IT division of BayernLB as CIO and Executive Manager.
The Chief Executive Officer of KfW Bankengruppe, Dr Ulrich Schröder, added: “With Dr Leibrock the KfW is gaining an experienced and highly qualified manager. We will reach our goal of improving the operating performance of KfW more quickly with her at our side.”
In the newly created position of the COO/CIO, all infrastructure and IT-related areas will be bundled in order to be able to manage the technical and infrastructural modernisation process in a concentrated manner.
Dr Leibrock has been at BayernLB since 2009. Previously she worked nine years in management consulting at the Boston Consulting Group with a focus on banks. From 1998 to 1999, Dr Leibrock, who holds a degree in physics, was a visiting scientist in the USA.
