(pressebox) Bramsche, 27.03.2009, Color Alliance (CA) member Julius Heywinkel GmbH will give its brand new CA-approved inkjet textiles centre stage on its trade fair stand. The textiles are based on a standardised coating which drastically reduces the number of colour profiles. They simplify production processes and, moreover, ensure maximum process reliability.
In large format printing (LFP), any number of things can go wrong. They range from the printer, print settings and the ink system, the RIP and coating to the printing medium and the colour profile used. To optimise process reliability for printing service providers, dealers, print buyers and end users working with heytex(r) printing media in the field of large format inkjet printing, these media will henceforth be classified as "CA approved".
Julius Heywinkel GmbH will premiere its CA-approved printing media at Fespa Digital Europe 2009 in Amsterdam from 12 to 14 May. All of these inkjet textiles, which are up to five metres wide and go by the brand name heytex(r) "digitex", feature the same standardised CA coating. The comprehensive CA concept integrates them into a workflow which takes in everything from manufacture to ready end product. This development means that colour commitment and reproducibility can be ensured anywhere in the world.
In order to provide the same assurance of process reliability, the company’s well-established heytex(r) sign products now bear the "CA approved" label. This means that although these digital inkjet media feature a different coating, they can be seamlessly integrated into the CA workflow on the basis of specially adapted print profiles. All stages of the process, including coating, mediate and RIP, are then perfectly matched, thereby optimising productivity.
"Customers retain freedom of choice where digitally printable textiles are concerned," explains Michael Kirk, Director Sales for Sign textiles at Julius Heywinkel GmbH in Bramsche. "Our membership of the Color Alliance means that, with our media, we can also offer an inkjet production process which is virtually standardised. Definitive evidence of colour accuracy can be provided and trial printouts, which can be really expensive in the field of LFP in particular, are not necessary. A green CA traffic light is absolute proof of the correctness of the colour perceived."
To produce evidence of colour accuracy, a control wedge is also printed out with each order. Users can then check the control wedge using a standard spectrophotometer and analyse it with a special "CA Control Tool". If the traffic light is green, the print results are perfect. The relevant certificate/record can be enclosed with the order or affixed as a label if necessary. If the traffic light is red, the print results are inadequate.
Visitors to Fespa in Amsterdam will be able to see the new CA products by Julius Heywinkel GmbH for themselves (Hall 1, Stand D110) as well as find out about CA workflow and Color Alliance partners. The members of this global alliance include leading multinational printing media manufacturers and one RIP manufacturer.
