International expansion offers margin potential
(pressebox) Bielefeld, 19.11.2008 – For the years 2009 and 2010, we expect BIOGAS NORD to resume the vehement profitable growth of the years 2005 and 2006. After the transition year 2008, we forecast profits again for 2009, already.
Due to the increase of substrate price and regulatory uncertainty concerning EEG amendment, the explosive company growth has temporarily been disrupted. Now essential surrounding conditions in Germany have again improved.
- Adoption of the EEG amendment puts an end to the investment delay
- Amendment of the gas network access regulation
- Falling prices for agricultural raw materials (substrates)
- No increase of biogas admixture quotas
Furthermore, BIOGAS NORD is one of the players with the best international positioning and can benefit to an increasing degree from the good business conditions in such countries as Italy or Spain in the future.
The distribution cooperation with BayWa enables a quick and concentrated development of the Southern German biogas market.
The current entry in the segment of own biogas plant investments and the operation of these plants offers new expansion potential, allows for more attractive margins in the plant construction segment, and decreases the volatility of sales and profits. This business segment is not yet included in our financial estimates.
We derived a fair value per share in the amount of EUR 8.45. This value indicates an extraordinarily high upside potential in comparison to the current share price. We initiate coverage with a BUY recommendation.
