(pressebox) Freudenstadt, 23.01.2009, Construction work is again underway at Gebr. Schmid GmbH + Co. in Freudenstadt, Germany. A new multifunctional building is currently being erected at the company headquarters. The first phase (two floors) is scheduled for completion in March 2009. The new building is to house the electrical assembly, the computer-controlled warehouse systems with extended capacity, the canteen extension with outside terrace, and an underground parking lot. The incoming goods department and shipping department will also be situated in the new building. Following completion of the second construction phase, the building will be 25 m high, while the new façade will extend over a length of 38 m. The individual stories provide a floor area of approx. 1,600 m²; to which various auxiliary areas are added. The total investment for the new building is about EUR 7 million.

The good order situation, particularly in the photovoltaic sector which is continuing to see strong growth, necessitates capacity expansion and enables the creation of new jobs
