Company Information/Traffic Figures January 2012

Berlin (euro adhoc) – In the context of its efficiency-increasing program
“Shape & Size” and for the first time since the publication of its traffic
figures, airberlin, Germany’s second-largest airline, has succeeded in
increasing the capacity utilization rate for January to approximately 75
percent, i.e. 2.6 percentage points more than in the corresponding month of the
previous year (01/2011: 72.35 percent). In monthly comparison, the company had
reduced capacity by 14.4 percent in a targeted manner, whereas the number of
passengers transported only decreased by 11.3 percent, namely from 2,145,188
passengers in January 2011 to 1,901,779 passengers in January 2012.
