Berlin (euro adhoc) – For the first eleven months of 2011, airberlin transported
2.1 percent more passengers than in the corresponding period of the previous
year. In total, 33,280,624 passengers travelled with Germany’s second-largest
airline (2010: 32,603,590 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization for the first
eleven months of the year improved by 1.9 percentage points to 78.4 percent
(2010: 76.5 percent), whereas accumulated capacity decreased by 0.5 percent.
In November 2011, a total of 2,259,301 passengers travelled on airberlin’s
flight route network, i.e. 9.9 percent fewer passengers than in the
corresponding month of the previous year (11/2010: 2,508,821 passengers). At the
same time, the company reduced capacity by 9.1 percent. In monthly comparison,
fleet capacity utilization decreased from 74.9 percent to 74.2 percent (- 0.7
percentage points).
