voestalpine AG hereby informs that the (German) Federal Cartel Office today (11/05/2011) conducted an inspection at the office of voestalpine Klöckner Bahntechnik GmbH in Duisburg, which is active inter alia in the trading of rails for the Division Railway Systems in Germany. The reason for the inspection are possible anti-competitive practices in the German market for rails. voestalpine AG takes these allegations seriously and will openly and fully cooperate with the authorities. Further information can currently not be provided.
