(pressebox) Redwood Shores/CA, 11.08.2009, Compiere, Inc., the global leader in open source and Cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions, today announced the launch of Compiere Exchange, a convenient hub for easy access to, and sharing of, extensions built and supported by Compiere Authorized Partners. Compiere Exchange currently features nearly a dozen value-added extensions Compiere Partners have built and installed into enterprises across various industries, including distribution, manufacturing, banking/financial and construction.

"The new Exchange demonstrates how Compiere, along with its global network of partners and customers, is committed to building a community that creates and shares new capabilities to meet today’s most demanding ERP needs," said Don Klaiss, Compiere president and CEO. "Exchange users will benefit from a venue that promotes the creation and sharing of these new, innovative applications and provides a convenient way for customers to locate these valuable extensions."

Compiere Exchange comprises the following three types of extensions:

- Add-on Modules – built using the Compiere development platform or tightly integrated with the base Compiere ERP modules;
- Connectors – integrations between Compiere and various third-party hardware and software solutions; and
- Language Packs – downloadable files contributed by Compiere Authorized Partners.

Examples of extensions currently available on Compiere Exchange include SugarCRM, Salesforce.com and EDI connectors, a Banking Payment Management module, a Fleet/Resource Management module, and a Subscription and License Management module.
